Platform 11+ and Creative Writing

In 2010, BDNR joined the European creative writing project Platform 11+, whose main coordinator is the Theatre Institute in Bratislava.

The international project Platform 11+ was created as a response to the dearth of cultural content and cultural activities for young people aged eleven to fifteen. It tries to use theatre as a medium for aesthetic and informal, creative education. Aside from children, theatres and professionals from twelve European countries also participated in the project: Germany, Portugal, Hungary, Estonia, Czech Republic, Norway, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, England, Switzerland and Slovakia. The Dramatically Young competition was born, the main organizer of which is the Theatre Institute in Bratislava. The Platform 11+ project ended in 2013, but the Creative Writing workshops live and create to this day in several cities in Slovakia under the leadership of experienced lecturers. Creative writing workshops continue to take place under the patronage of the Theatre Institute, Bratislava.

A creative meeting about writing takes place every week in the Puppet Theatre at the Crossroads in Banská Bystrica under the leadership of Iveta Škripková/Horváthová*.
Each participant will receive a BACKSTAGE PASS, which entitles him/her to enter the building or to visit the show and backstage at the Puppet Theatre at the Crossroads.
The workshop spontaneously formed into the mode of two creative groups: for children from nine to fourteen, and for children from fifteen to eigtheen years of age.

The works of the participants are publicly presented at the original readings of the author’s work:
